We have a LOT of particulates in our water and this flter does a wonderful job. Regrettably efficiency drops rapidly, decreasing flow to an annoyingly slow drizzle. If you have a lot of particles and are not concerned with cysts etc, you can want to downgrade to the 8171413 which is also effective with chlorine and lead reduction but seems to last far longer before flow is restricted.
